HIGH4 is Losing Control! (D.O.A)

Dead or Alive (D.O.A) - HIGH4

HIGH4 starts the November comebacks by releasing their newest song D.O.A (Dead or Alive). If you
have been following this group, their last song, "Baby Boy", totally had a different feel. "Baby Boy" had a cuter image as they try to catch the attention of a girl. Just as any other boy group, they put away those colorful clothes and went for a bad boy image. Just from the title of the song, I knew it was going to be a serious and possibly a scary MV. For their concept, I love how they all look. But what is up with the maknae's hair? He can't see! Haha but with his new hairstyle, it shows how much he has grown from their first song with IU.

With this song, I absolutely love how the rappers opened the song, which was contrasted with Myunghan's vocals as he said "I'm losing control" (which is probably my favorite line in the whole song). I love the beat of the song, its very catchy and simple. There is a great balance as well with the lead vocals and the rappers, which is always a plus for me when it comes to comeback songs! Now on to the MV! There is no storyline, but rather scenes of each member as they sing and as well as the choreography to the song. One thing that I thought that seemed similar to another group was when they are dancing as a group. It kind of gave off a VIXX feel and especially with their outfits, I feel like I've seen an MV like this before. Although there is a similarity, HIGH4 does have their differences compared to other groups. They never disappoint when it comes to the songs they release, because with their first collaboration song with IU, their vocals caught my attention right from the start! I love how they are trying different concepts, which makes they a well-rounded group, which will be at their advantage when trying to reach out to different age groups and styles of music. This song at first may sound a little slow, but you have to give it a try and listen to it a couple of times and I am sure they will not disappoint!

Even though they did not dance as much in their MV, they did perform this song before they released the MV. The dance to this song is very big and precise, something that is very different from their previous songs as well. There are points in the dance that makes them show off their sexy side and their manly side. Overall, everything about this song I absolutely love! From the dance to the amazing vocals, HIGH4 has come a long way and they have proved to become a great K-pop group and I know they will be successful in the future. If you have not listened to them yet, watch their MV below and listen to their previous songs. My favorite is their collaboration song with Lim Kim - A Little Close). Let us know what you think about D.O.A or their older songs!
