Once or TWICE?

OOH-AHH - TWICE

JYP's newest girl group, TWICE, just debuted with their song"OOH-AHH하게" also known as "Like OOH-AHH." TWICE is a 9-member girl group made up of different ethnicities, such as Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean. They were previously chosen to be in the group through JYP's show SIXTEEN, which was kind of misleading because I thought his group would have 16 members in the beginning. As you can probably figure out with JYP and his groups, he has a thing with numbers. But he never disappoints with the groups he debuts and their debut song!

As TWICE's teasers started to come out 3 at a time, I was very curious about their concept. When I first watched Nayeon's teaser, I thought it was cute seeing her wash her face and smiling in the mirror. I did not expect seeing that zombie towards the end though! At first I got really scared and it got creepier and creepier with the other two teasers. Then there were teasers from Sana and Jeongyeon that made the whole zombie concept a little funnier when they did not care about the zombies being in their way. Overall I had no idea what TWICE was going with this zombie concept, I was scared that the MV was going to be scary. Also, through their teasers we did not get any preview of their song only the signature "TWICE" at the end of each video. If you are a GOT7 fan, you may have noticed Dahyun and Sana from their music videos as well!

After the long awaited wait, TWICE's MV released on October 19 (in the U.S.) or October 20 (in Korea). All the girls looked great in the MV and I was very surprised with this concept! I loved their outfits and of course their vocals. It seemed like everyone had an equal amount of time in the song, which was really good. I love how the song is upbeat and the background music goes perfectly with it (was that a flute type thing?). In my opinion, my favorite part of the whole song is the chorus when they sing the "OOH-AHH." I also like the meaning of the song on how they want to find "true" love and not this fake love. I guess thats how they intertwined the zombie concept in this MV because they don't have hearts and they don't really care as much. They want to find a guy that will show their love for them in a different way that will catch their attention. The ending of the MV reminded me of the zombie movie, Warm Bodies because at the end the main character, which is a guy, starts to fall in love with a human and he starts to care for her throughout the whole movie. He protects her from the other zombies and she does the same as he was being attacked by the government people. Then towards the end of the movie, they show that he has a heart and it starts to beat. I don't know if the director of the MV watched the movie and got inspired by it, but I saw a connection with the MV and the movie. Do you think it was just a coincidence?!

The dance was very intricate at points, especially during the dance break when they were behind the school bus. There are also parts of the choreography that seems easy to follow, so if you love making those dance covers make sure to try out this dance! With their dancing, it makes the song a little more catchy and fun because you see them having fun dancing with the zombies and with each other throughout the whole MV.

I can't wait to listen to the rest of their album and see their comeback stages on the various music shows! I know they will be very successful with this comeback and with their music career. So don't forget to check them out and watch their music video! Let us know what you think about them and if you have any favorites on their album.
